Myrtle Beach Speedway and a really nice display area at Coastal Harley-Davidson

NOS parts direct from HarleyBut if vendors in a"foo-foo" area isn't exactly your thing, don't worry. There was a nice display area along with the Camel Roadhouse set up at the Myrtle Beach Speedway and a really nice display area at Coastal Harley-Davidson in murrels Inlet, about 12 miles from Myrtle. And then of course there is golf, approximately 60 golf courses in the immediate area. And amusement parks-myrtle Beach has more mini-amusement parks than I have ever seen. But that is not all.
The convention center was filled with NOS parts direct from Harley being sold at some 50 to 70 percent off suggested pricing. Needless to say, this kept the convention center busy on Thursday and Friday But, to spice it up more the Dealers Asociation held a bike showthere on Saturday. A bike show in an air-conditioned hall on a 90 degree day with at least 100 percant humidity.... yes, it was crowded. On Friday night another neat event took place, Myrtle Beach Speedway hosted the dirt-track Harley 883s and XR-750s on their 1/2-mile paved oval. Yup, dirt-trackers on the street. Damn cool. As the riders entered the corners a haze of blue smoke came off their rear tires from the speed but it got even cooler when they stuck out their steel shoe (used in dirt-track racing to slide on the dirt and support the bike) and sparks shot up 10 to 15 feet in the air! The crowd was on their collective feet all night long
