Softail-styled custom

Next it was time for a wiring harness to be installed. The crew at V-Twin City really like the per-made harness that Legends offers. Not only will it work on a Softail-styled custom, it  can work on an FXR-style bike as well.
Before any hard wiring is done, Buzz likes to rough out the installation to see how the harness fits the frame. The Legends harness is color coded just like a factory harness, making accessory installations a breeze.
When the harness is installed permanently, this little alcove in the frame rails will house most of the connections.
With the preliminary wiring laid out we can install the V-Thunder ignition module.
Since the V-Thunder module will have to come on and off for paint and testing, Buzz used well nuts like the kind that hold your seat on to mount it--A great idea.
A good look at how the module and wiring harness will look when it is all in place. There is atill plenty of room for some other wiring and a battery.
The original D&D Metalworks tank looked good, but the new stretched one is much better suited for PS.
D&D makes a nice mounting bracket and includes it as part of the tank kit.
To install  the new stretched tank, we had to cut the front fat bob mount off. The bracket and foam anti-vibration pad are included with the tank kit.
Another necessity was an oil filter mount. It just so happens that Pro One makes a very chromed one that will look nice up front.
When you install the filter mount stud into the mount, be sure to apply some Lock Tite to the threads. Remember to screw it in only hand tight!
Custom Chrome makes a nice set of chrome handlebar controls that accept stock (or D.O.T. approved) switches.
